Team Mizu proposes a privacy-preserving on-chain voting system for Nouns DAO that uses four principal components: a fallback layer, an upgraded version based on homomorphic El Gamal encryption, an optimistic proving pool, and key rotation and vote enforcement mechanics. The proposal aims to provide auditability, modularity, and little reliance on off-chain infrastructure or external dependencies, with acceptable gas costs. A basic prototype is expected to be created in three months, with additional work required for auditing and integration into the existing Nouns smart contract ecosystem.
